Nehlsen tests 60 trackers for asset tracking

Tracker screwed onto a roll-off container

Our new tracker solution for asset tracking is off to a strong start: the Nehlsen Group is currently testing 60 trackers across three of its companies.

Mounted on new containers

The devices are mainly fitted to newly purchased containers of various sizes. Nehlsen chose to screw the trackers on; alternatively, they can be glued or riveted to the containers.

"Especially with our new containers, we always want to know exactly where they are – and GPS trackers are simply the best way to do that. Besides optimising our logistics processes, this also lets us carry out due safety inspections efficiently."

– Pierre Jürschik, managing director of three Nehlsen subsidiaries and head of Business Process Logistics at the Nehlsen Group

What the adhoc platform shows

Location history and geofence of a roll-off container in the adhoc platform
  • Current location and location history of every container
  • Energy-efficient positioning: alongside GPS, the tracker uses a Wi-Fi SSID scan, which needs far less energy and extends battery life
  • Geofences: containers are automatically assigned to the right customer
  • Inspection deadlines at a glance: due inspections can be tracked, and optimised routes to the affected containers can be planned right away
