Use case · locating equipment

Every asset found, every dwell time visible.

A tracker on a skip or roll-off container, a rented compactor or a trailer reports its position and movement. The platform assigns the asset to customers and depots automatically, counts the dwell time and shows the way it has taken.

Where mobile assets cost money

01

Containers and equipment gone missing

The customer moved it, the driver is searching. Where a skip really is, often only the last person who saw it knows.

02

Long dwell times

A skip has stood on the same site for weeks. Low turnover only shows when containers are missing for new orders.

03

Stock by phone

How many containers are in the yard, how many at customers? The answer costs calls and walk-rounds every day.

04

Theft and vandalism

A container leaves its site at night – and nobody notices until it is missing.

How dispatch sees the way

After 23 days the skip leaves the building site – dispatch is told at once. One click on the container shows its site, dwell time and history: every position with time, address and fix type, drawn on the map as a route.

Smart asset tracking

What tracker and platform do

Smart positioning

GNSS (GPS, Galileo) outdoors, a Wi-Fi scan in halls, mobile network as a fallback. Every position shows where it comes from.

Geofences

Areas around customers, building sites and depots. The container is assigned automatically when it enters one.

Alarm on leaving

When a container leaves its site or reaches a new one, the platform reports it – protection against theft as well.

Dwell times

How long each container has stood where. Long dwell times and low turnover show before containers run short.

Trace the history

The last positions as a list and as a route on the map – when the container was where.

Manage containers

Photos and notes per container, recurring inspections documented, import and export from your stock systems.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the positioning?

Outdoors the tracker uses GNSS (GPS and Galileo) to within a few metres. In halls it uses a Wi-Fi scan, with the mobile cell as a fallback. The history shows how each position was found – imprecise cell positions are listed but left out of the route.

How long does the battery last?

Up to five years, depending on the tracking mode. The tracker transmits more often when it moves and saves power at rest. The three AA lithium batteries can be replaced.

Does the tracker survive daily life on a container?

Yes. The industrial enclosure is rated IP69k against dust, water and pressure washers and works from −25 °C to +75 °C. It is screwed, bonded or held by a magnet – protected under the container’s rim.

What are geofences?

Areas you draw on the map around customers, building sites or depots. When a container enters a zone it is assigned to it; when it leaves, the platform can raise an alarm.

Which networks does the tracker use?

LTE-M and NB-IoT with Europe-wide coverage, or LoRaWAN. The SIM and data plan are included in the subscription.
